To find the trailhead, walk to the northwest corner of the kilns' and look for the sign that says the Wildrose Peak trail. Begin your hike here. The trail will start climbing through a forest of Pinyon and Juniper for 2.5 miles and then will reach a broad ridge where you'll be able to get your first good views of Death Valley.

Continue following the well-beaten trail as it climbs gradually until you reach the last mile. This is where the climb really picks up as it switchbacks to the summit. The trail is safe all the way and your toil will be rewarded with breathtaking views. Return the way you came.

Cool Fact: Despite the fact that the Kilns' were last used to burn wood, converting it into charcoal in the 1870's, these strange looking structures still retain a very strong odor of charcoal and resin 125 years later! Try speaking while standing in the center of one of the Kilns to hear the fantastic natural amplification of your voice.
