Directions From Los Angeles: aprox. 200 miles. one way.  Take Interstate 5 North to Hwy 14 North. Hwy 14 North becomes US Hwy 395. Continue on Hwy 395 to Lone Pine. At the only traffic light in down town Lone Pine, turn left heading West on Whitney Portal Road which will take you through Alabama Hills.
